I think sometimes we get so caught up in the “magic” of Christmas that we lose sight of the real meaning.  If you cannot find “the perfect gift” consider the following….

Christmas Gift Suggestions:
To your enemy, forgiveness.
To your opponent, tolerance.
To your friend, your heart.
To a customer, service.
To all, charity.
To every child, a good example,
To yourself, respect.

These are gifts that can be given any day of the year.

MAINTAIN………NO GAIN….. is what we are going to try and do the month of December. Don’t get discouraged because you are not losing weight. Just maintaining your weight for this month will be a step in the right direction. You won’t have all that “holiday weight gain” to lose as we begin… A NEW YEAR…A NEW YOU…….  2013 holds promise for all of us to take control of our eating habits and start living a healthy lifestyle that we all deserve.

It was nice to see so many of my chapters at Fall Rally. 310 Brockton performed a funny skit.  240 Abington had 3 members in the “Campfire Chat.” They had all lost 100 pounds and it was inspiring to hear their stories.

SRD will be held next year April 12th and 13th in Sturbridge, MA.  We are going back to the future as we celebrate the 50’s and 60’s.

I will be having a resume workshop at my house on Sunday, Jan 6th and Gail will be having one at her house on Saturday, Jan.5th. I sent out a prior notice this is just a reminder.  Any questions please e-mail me.

Our 1st  Inspiration Workshop of 2013

A NEW YEAR … A NEW YOU!

Are you determined to meet your weight loss goals this year? If healthier habits and weight loss are among your new year’s resolutions, give yourself a pat on the back for making health a top priority.  The hard part is actually sticking to it and making real changes!  Gail and I are having an Inspiration Workshop on Saturday, January 19th. It will be held at the Faith Chapel Assemblies of God -340 Pleasant Street, Bridgewater. Exit 15 off route 24. 9:30AM -1:30 PM. Would you like 2013 to be the year you reach your goal, the year you change your lifestyle, the year you break away from old habits, the year you are in control?  If you answered YES to any of these questions then join us and together we will begin to reshape our lives into what we really want to be. Nicole Cormier, RD will be our guest speaker. She was the speaker we had at our “salad bar” workshop.Stay tuned for more details in the January newsletter. We will be asking everyone to bring an empty, dry water bottle with top to the workshop so we'll all have our own shakers (something from Fall Rally).  Please pray for NO SNOW.

The following are suggestions from Martha Stewart (M. S.) and Maxine

M.S….To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes

Maxine…..Buy Hungry Jack mashed potato mix. Keeps in the pantry for up to a year.

M.S…..When a cake recipe calls for flouring the baking pan, use a bit of the dry cake mix instead and there won't be any white mess on the outside of the cake.

Maxine…..Go to the bakery! Hell, they'll even decorate it for you!

M.S……..Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator and it will keep for weeks.

Maxine…..Celery? Never heard of it!

M.S…….Cure for headaches: take a lime, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away.

Maxine….Take a lime, mix it with tequila, chill and drink! All your pains go away!

M.S……Don’t throw away leftover wine.  Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces.

Maxine…LEFTOVER WINE???????? HELLO!!!!!!!

Thought for the month: May you always have love to share, health to spare and friends that care.
